Apache Lucene.Net 2.9.4g Incubating released

It took about two months to fully roll out the 2.9.4g branch out the door. This release mostly replaces the plumbing of 2.9.4 with the .NET generic classes. One of the many benefits is the ability to use more .NET like code such as foreach (instead of GetEnumerator/MoveNext). There are a couple of API changes to be aware of:

  • StopAnalyzer(List stopWords)
  • Query.ExtractTerms(ICollection)
  • TopDocs.TotalHits, TopDocs.ScoreDocsv

Comments:

Lucenet.net project is wonderful search engine for .net guys. Thanks for your effort.

What a pity. As Visual Basic is not case sensitive, the whole Lucene.NET cannot be used in this language. The reason? Lucene.Net.Search.TopDocs has both a method and a property called ‘ScoreDocs’ and ‘scoreDocs’. This ambiguity makes that ScoreDocs cannot be resolved by VB.

@livethere: It is a pity that we didn't get that sorted out before the release. However, the next version of Lucene.NET, version 3.0.3, should finally have all of the CLS compliance issues solved. We're hoping to release the next version no later than the end of this month. Thanks, Christopher

Hi, Any news on 3.0.3? I'm also hoping to use it in VB.Net - I could always write a C# wrapper but it seems a little pointless purely for the sake of casing issues. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide
