The Apache News Round-up: week ending 17 April 2015

Our ApacheCon week in Austin wraps up today, with countless highlights, including celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Apache HTTP Web Server with some of the original members of the Apache Group, and launching a revised version of the apache.org homepage with thanks to our friends at Hot Wax Systems. Here's what's happened this week:

Apache Mahout™ –an environment for quickly creating machine learning applications that scale and run on the highest performance parallel computation engines available.

Apache Solr™ –an Open Source enterprise search server based on the Lucene Java search library, with XML/HTTP and JSON, Ruby, and Python APIs, hit highlighting, faceted search, caching, replication, and a web administration interface.

Apache Tomcat™ –an Open Source software implementation of the Java Servlet, JavaServer Pages, Java Expression Language and Java WebSocket technologies.
